About the Company
More than a door is the family owned business of Bob & Sylvia Watkins started with an idea and a supply of some new and some almost new kitchen cabinet doors. We are located East of Orlando, Florida about 15 miles in the little town of Chuluota, FL. off highway SR419. Chuluota is an indian name that means "Land of Little Foxes." It is located out in the country in a quiet setting among fields of grass and horses.
Sylvia is the artistic, creative member of the family. She is responsible for the design and the subsequent art work on our beautiful one of a kind designs. These designs are unique and our promise is to never build two pieces that are exactly alike. There is a tag on the bottom of each piece of furniture with that promise and a serial number.
The design starts out with ideas from the customer given to Sylvia of what they would like to have as an addition to an area of their home that would fit their particular decor. The idea then takes it's first form on paper where she plans what it should look like along with picking a particular theme that would fit with the customer's decor and wishes. The customer is notified and is given an estimate of the cost and shown the drawing.
Upon customer approval each creation is then hand built by craftsman Bob and spray painted with primer then a base coat. After that it is routed to our art department where Sylvia hand paints the panels with the art work that has been previously sketched and shown to the customer for approval. At that point it is then rerouted back to Bob for spraying of a clear protective coating. The door is attached and checked for fit then set in a room for complete drying then shipped to the customer. Time for construction is from 3 to 4 weeks.
